THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR AND THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE POLICE FORCES MEET THE US CHARGE D'AFFAIRS TO SUDAN
The first lieutenant General police (jurist) Dr.Atraffi Idris Dafallah,the minister of interior,renewed the ministry of interior concern and keenness to enhance security cooperation and coordination with the united states of America,as well as strengthening bilateral agreements in the areas of training,capacity building,forensic evidence and internal security work,this came when he met in his office today,the American charge d'affairs in sudan Mr,Brian shokan in the presence of the first lieutenant general police (jurist) Adel Mohamed Ahmed Bashayer,director general of police forces,Andrew Johnson,security a ttache and director of the regional security Bureau and Osman Abdulaziz the security liaison officer and head of the Investigation division,noting that the ministry of interior and police headquarter,have made agreat work in the field of combating terrorism in accordance with international laws,through exchanging information with international criminal police organization (INTERPOL) as well as implementing modern systems that deal with crime and undertake investigations in it,and with the support of forensic evidence,with what they possess of experts in this field.adding that the ministry of interior,and police headquarter work on implementing provisions and laws governing human rights and preserve their dignity,explaining that investigations are still underway for the suspects who were arrested in the explosives cell in eastern Nile,which manufactures explosives.for his part,the first Lt,Gen police (jurist) Adel Mohamed Ahmed Bashayer,director general of police forces,indicated that the meeting comes within the framework of strengthening police cooperation between sudan and the united states of America in the issues of concern to the two countries,especially joint cooperation,information exchange,training,and forensic evidence work,indicating that the meeting represents an opening to many aspects of cooperation in the interest of the Sudanese police,and enhancing their capabilities,adding that the Sudanese police are able to carry out the duties and tasks of internal security operations,with their accumulative experiences,revealing measures by he Sudanese police to control the movement of travelers through airports,ports and borders,and monitoring them by using technology in all police work to reduce smuggling and transit crime,explaining that the Sudanese passport is extracted according to high security principles,and granted to the Sudanese in accordance to the regulations organizing this,reiterating the aspirations of the Sudanese police to cooperate with their counterparts at the regional and international levels,where they have implemented an operational aspect to combat illegal immigration in order to achieve security and stability.
