Government and People's Movement North Sign Declaration of Principles

The delegations of the government and the People's Movement - North, led by Abdul Aziz al-Hilu, Friday signed a roadmap negotiation agreement between them at the negotiation headquarters in Pyramid Hotel in Juba on Monday.Member of the Sovereignty Council, Shams-Eddin Kabbashi, Signed on behalf of the government of Sudan, while the Secretary General of the People's Movement, Ammar Amon Daldoum  and the head of the mediation committee, Tut Galwak, has signed on behalf of the witnesses.

The road map, signed by the two sides has divided the issues of negotiation into three files, which are the political, humanitarian and security arrangements.In joint press statement with the Movement's spokesman, the member of the Sovereignty Council and spokesman for the government delegation, Mohamed Al-Hassan Al-Taayeshi, said that the sincere will of the government and the deep understanding of the nature of Sudan's problems contributed to this breakthrough in the negotiations.Al-Taayeshi said that the roadmap signed today within few hour of negotiation has earlier taken 22 rounds of talks throughout a period of eight year during the former regime's era.He said that the breakthrough that took place today was not strange to a government that holds the agenda of the glorious December RevolutionAl-Taayeshi pointed out that the speed with which the signing took place was evidence of the willingness of the negotiating parties to end the war and to build a democratic and advanced state.On his part, the head of the mediation committee for the Sudanese peace talks, Tut Galwak, stated that to the Sudanese people that peace is near, saying that the signing of the declaration of principles was a major breakthrough in the peace process, affirming the continuation of negotiation between Sudan government and the People's Movement - North on Saturday.The movement's spokesman Jack Mahmoud Al-Jak affirmed that the signed declaration of principles was the roadmap that will govern the future negotiations, noting that the dialogue will continue on Saturday in accordance with the roadmap signed on Friday.
