Interior Minister Addresses The Opening Session Of Protocol On Freedom Of Movement Of People, Between The Countries Of IGAD Region
The Lt.Gen police, (jurist) Al-Tarifi Idris Dafallah,minister of interior,stressed the importance of regional integration between IGAD countries,to activate the freedom of movement of citizens within the countries of the region,and cancellation of all visa fees,to enjoy residency,find work and housing opportunities.This came when addressing today,in the friendship hall in Khartoum,asession of special experts protocol,on freedom of movement of persions,in the IGAD region
,in the presence of Mrs.Fathia Alwan,director of social affairs of IGAD,ambassador Eidan Ohara,representative of European union,and members of IGAD countries.indicating that the policy of IGAD aims to remove all restrictions that hinder movement of citizens in the countries of the region,beside working to implement the organization's integration programs,to transfer free experiences in the region,indicating that sudan,with its geographical location,meets the ways of transporting migrants,searching livelihood and work,which requires the development of international treaties and convenants,and that the countries of the region,have the right to organize the exercise of the right of movement in accordance with national legislations,and their international and regional obligations,affirming sudan's support for regional integration and trade,to face all challenges of people,calling for the importance of coordinating borders to establish policies,to support freedom of movement between countries of region,to achieve integration,and ensure better future for the next generation.beside attracting more investments,to develop the economy.During the first session,the attendees listened to a report on the review of legislation and policies affecting the freedom of movement of people within the countries of IGAD,along with presentstion of the conclussions and recommendations of the repor,with the participation of representatives of the countries of the region,while the sessions continue until Thursday,by signing and adopting the road map.
