Fifth: Kidnapping cases:

•    On 4/9/2010, at Al-Amab police station, a citizen opened a case against an unknown person. He stated that this person informed the citizen that his son is with him and he demands a ransom of 350, 000 SDGs. In coordination with the police, the case reporter agreed through phone with the first suspect on 100,000 SDGs for releasing his son. A tight plan was developed by the Khartoum State CID for catching the suspects. On 17/9/2010 a total of 6 suspects were caught and all were found to be disciplined forces members whose service was terminated. Their homes at Alferdous town were napped. Items found included 2 Kilanshinkov guns + 1 machine gun + 5 Grenade bombs + 93 Kilashinkov bullets + a number of disciplined forces uniforms (National Security) with captain and first lieutenant ranks’ signs. Through investigations, it was revealed that the suspects form a criminal network and have committed a number of cases.
•    On 9/9/2010 at 12:20 pm Al-Salha Police Station at Omdurman Locality received a case from a female citizen of 36 years, from Al-Halanga tribe and a house-wife working as ‘Hina designer’, and living at Al-Ushara village in the Southern Rural area. She informed that two female suspects who wear veils were able to kidnap her 7-days old daughter from inside her house. Through investigation she stated that the suspects came to her home for the purpose of making ‘hina’ where she went for preparing it and left her child near them. When she came back, she didn’t find her child. On 14/9/2010, based on information, a suspect was caught by the CID team of Al-Amab police station. Through investigation with her she confessed that she is sterile and afraid that her husband might divorce her. She was informed by a midwife (from Rufa’aa, 30 years, and living at Al-Salha) of a newly born female child whose mother wanted to get rid of her due to the suspicion of her brothers. She went with her to the house of the case reporter and took the child. She informed her husband that she had born the child. The child was brought and her mother who was called identified it. When she was re-interrogated and faced by facts she informed of her illegal relation with a Palestinian person who lives near her home. She wanted to get rid of the child because of her color. The accuser, the suspect, the midwife and the Palestinian were caught and all gave confessions in front of the Criminal Court of South Omdurman. The articles for accusation were changed to 114/20/76/69 of PC and article 146 PC against the case opener and the Palestinian. The child was sent to Omdurman Emergency Unit for checking and a sample was taken from the Palestinian suspect which was sent to the forensics laboratories.
•    On 21/10/2010 the Central Police Station of Khartoum North received a case from an Engineer who lives at Hilat Hammad. He informed that a female suspect kidnapped the son of his sister of 18 months age. A case was registered under article No. 162 PC. A joint team was formed from the locality police, the Central Station, CID and Security Police. After a follow up and collection of information from various parts of Khartoum State, the team arrived at a piece of information which indicates that the female suspected accompanied by the child are at White Nile State. A suspect was detected (laborer who lives in Omdurman) who collaborated with the female suspect in the kidnapping operation.  An assigned team was sent to Rabak area of White Nile State> the suspect was detected at 12:30 on 26/10/2010 accompanied by the child who was in good condition. This was at Asalaya area where she was getting ready to travel to Abu Gebeiha area. She was brought to Khartoum and confessed that she committed the stated accusation of kidnapping the child with the intention of selling him to a foreign identity. The child was handed over to his family with the consent of the prosecution.
